About Independence
Designed by renowned naval architect Royal Lowell, the Bruno & Stillman 42’ is considered one of the finest examples of the Downeast style, which can be seen in harbors throughout New England on both working fishing vessels and pleasure craft. Independence is a thoughtfully restored, classically charming example of the Downeast yacht, especially noteworthy for its warm mahogany deckhouse and intimate settings throughout.
Independence’s low profile enables her to get uniquely close to the iconic DC monuments and landmarks visible at the water’s edge on the Upper Potomac.
In 2024, Independence underwent a full power refit, now equipped with two NovaLuxe electric motors for a silent cruise experience down the waterways.
